Hello again. It's me, writing another review, this time of the excellent Deep Kiss Contest vol. 3.
The Deep Kiss series is one of Soft on Demand's most popular. Begun by female AV director Chie Sugawara, who desires to make adult video that women will want to watch in addition to men, it's been one of the distinguishing moments in her career.
The latest release in the Deep Kiss series is one of the best we've ever seen, and we should know. Not really a contest at all, four pairs of knock-down drag-out beautiful women act out several highly erotic scenes for you, dressing in the costumes of what they're supposed to be and creating a whole picture for you of beautiful women tenderly in love with each other.
There are five sections to the 130 minute DVD. First, there's a very believable scene with two lovely nurses who get it on right there at work. Next is a nice scene with two girls in high school, who explore lesbian kissing and more. A young housewife is visited by a friend from her college days, and they find themselves kissing and petting passionately on the sofa. Two beautiful tennis girls discover their feelings for each other and express them on camera for you. And finally, a women visits her sick friend from work to see how she's feeling, which leads to an excellent long scene with the two beautiful women.
This production is so good partially because the actresses are so beautiful -- they're not amateurs who are kissing each other for the first time, but carefully chosen actresses who know how "deep kiss" tenderly. The kissing and the sex is nice because it focuses so much on the females themselves, not on any part of their body located in the lower half -- and the girls each have strong characters that they play, which calls for love and passion in their kissing, not just something that's done for a camera. Unlike many AV productions from Japan, the girls are in character the whole time, and ignore the camera completely -- an interesting contrast to other productions from SOD, which often have the director asking questions or asking the girls to do things from behind the camera.
The DVD is, as are all released by Soft on Demand, region free, so you don't need a special player to view it, as with some of the other high-end independent studios' works.
I can't not give this work incredibly high marks for being what it is: the pinnacle of SOD's efforts to take the fetish of "female deep kissing" to its highest possible point.
