It's rare for a member of Japan's highly developed adult video world to be in a class by herself. And she's not really, since she invented a new category of erotica and is still #1 in that category, even though others (like Maiko Kazano) have followed closely. But we love Mai-chan, whose nickname is Maichy (which sounds like "mighty" to the Japanese), and we hope you will do.

The new productions are white-hot DVD releases from Bauhaus, entitled Front Mirukuru and Back Mirukuru (or Omote Mirukuru and Ura Mirukuru if you're just burning to learn the Japanese titles).

In "Front" you assume the role of Mai-chan's boyfriend (the camera is your point of view all the time), and the two of you go to beautiful Saipan and play "house" together. She cooks for you, frolics with you on the bed, goes skinny-dipping with you, and basically is your surrogate girlfriend. In "Back" Mirukuru, Mai Hagiwara puts on a very different face, assuming a sultry and sizzlingly erotic array of costumes and sexy outfits, a perfect yin to "Front" Mirikuru's yang.

The action flips between scenes of Mai making the various footage that went into the production, and the super-sexy production footage itself. First we see her in a leather outfit that is incredibly erotic, with some of the best camera angles I've seen in any of her soft porn erotic productions yet. Later, she's nude, and a steam of lotion falls from above, slowly flowing over every part of her while the camera catches it all. Still later, she's wearing the most sultry, sizzling white lingerie I've seen, and she's beautiful as she unclasps her panties.

As with past Bauhaus productions, this is an uncensored DVD, so there's no mosaic when you catch glimpses of Maichy's pubic hair. This hails back to the Great Mosaic Shift of 1994, when a minor adult magazine, Tenmei, defined the Japanese censorship laws, stating that its nude photography was art and should be protected as free speech. When nothing happened to them for printing uncensored pubic hair, everyone else followed suit, which is why still photography does not need mosaic unless it shows sex or open genitalia. Similar, this beautiful collection of erotic footage is not "porn" but is erotic art, and thus, Bauhaus correctly sticks to their guns and refuses to slap a mosaic on them. Some shops and distributors in Japan don't carry this series because of the lack of mosaic -- it's their loss though, as it's wonderful.

The DVDs are both region free.
