Usami Kyouka Interview
Translated by Ex-S Woo
Just one year since her debut but she has made
over 80 works!
Interviewer:
You have quite a large number of works made so far. Is there
one that stands out in particular?
Kyouka: Probably
'Eye Energy'... it was a really rushed production... it was
probably the one I'm the least proud of. It was really tough!
Interviewer: This
must've happened to you often given the way I'm hearing you
say it (laughs). That's the one with rape, isn't it? Did you
hear about its contents before you shot it?
Kyouka: I heard
everything. I thought I was prepared for what was going to happen,
but it was still really tough! I wasn't really hurt physically
but the things they'd say to me! I know it's part of my work,
but I actually cried because of it! I think I might've been
traumatized!
Interviewer: Now
that I think about it you don't like water sports much either
do you?
Kyouka: I hate
it! I don't understand how some people can like it!
Interviewer: But
it's exactly that reaction that gets people to watch it (laughs).
Is there anything that you do enjoy?
Kyouka: I liked
cosplaying in a bunny outfit. I always begged them to let me
wear it so I was really happy when it happened. I even got to
keep the outfit afterwards. But I enjoy the shooting in any
production in general. It's fun talking to the staff and I love
getting my picture taken.
Interviewer: Do
you watch your own work?
Kyouka: Nope. Not
at all! It's way too embarrassing!
Interviewer: Are
you able to objectively assess your own performance while you're
acting during a shoot?
Kyouka: I don't
act. I do know the camera's there, but I try to act natural.
I do remember seeing a scene that I was in from some video and
I remember thinking "That's gross!".
Interviewer: You're
good at Karaoke. You go often?
Kyouka: I get lots
of practice when I go out with my friends. I went yesterday,
in fact, and got a bit drunk (laughs).
Interviewer: You
handle liquor well?
Kyouka: Not at
all. I don't like it much, so it's not like I drink it when
I'm home. I guess I'd get 5 or 6 cocktails when I go out.
Interviewer: I
think that would mean that do you handle it well (laughs). Is
it true that you said to another interviewer that you get horny
when you drink?
Kyouka: I get really
horny (laughs).
Interviewer: From
5 or 6 cocktails?
Kyouka: No. I'm
fine after the cocktails. It's what I drink after that that
gets to me.
Interviewer:
So you handle it well (laughs). What do you do on your days
off?
Kyouka: I often
go out to eat or look around while I'm eating. I'm eating a
bit less because it's so hot out, but I like to eat. I love
sushi and sweets.
Interviewer: Do
you cook?
Kyouka: I make
something for my boyfriend whenever he's around. I even make
breakfast if he stays over. Usually somewhere along the lines
of fish, Miso soup, rice, and Natto.
Interviewer: That's
pretty good. So you know how to housekeep too.
Kyouka: I'm not
sure how good I am, but since I had to cook for myself since
my mother worked, I could take care of myself.
Interviewer: You
live alone now don't you? Does your family know what you do?
Kyouka: Nope. A
lot of my friends know but my parents don't. I went to a girl's
school so it's only girls that do know. I did live at home when
I first started working but my dad was so strict. So he'd always
yell at me for leaving early and coming back so late. But now
he's nice to me since I'm only home every so often (laughs).
Interviewer: Any
siblings?
Kyouka: I have
a brother that's a year older than me.
Interviewer: I
bet your brother knows.
Kyouka: Hmmm. I
don't think he's that into AVs. My brother's girlfriend is SO
cute! So I bet all he thinks about is her right now (laughs).
I can't even compare to her.
Interviewer: When
was your first time?
Kyouka: Second
year in high school. I went out with him for about four months
and it was total hell (laughs). My parents were all complaining
so much that I even threatened to run away from home (laughs).
But my boyfriend got sick of all that too, so in the end we
broke up.
Interviewer: How
many men did you sleep with after that?
Kyouka: About 20.
Interviewer: Did
you have any one night stands from drinking too much...?
Kyouka: Yep (laughs).
Interviewer:
Do you remember your debut work?
Kyouka: I think
it was with... Wild Side.
Interviewer: You
mean 'The female sex fiend wearing tight leotard'?
Kyouka: Yeah, that
one!
Interviewer: Wild
Side is that fetish producers that specialize in scat, isn't
it?
Kyouka: Oh, really?
But it was perfectly normal. I was a bit nervous but it was
over before I knew it.
Interviewer: So
what made you decide to debut?
Kyouka: I was scouted.
Interviewer: I
bet you were scouted a lot of times before that. Why did you
decide to listen to him then?
Kyouka: I did get
scouted... but everyone else looked so scary (laughs).
Interviewer: Did
they tell you were going to do AVs from the start?
Kyouka: Yeah. But
I never watched any AVs until then so I had no idea what I was
going to be doing. I guess that's why I didn't resist that much.
Interviewer: So
you didn't know back then.
Kyouka: Yeah. I
love make-up so I wanted to work in a related field but I failed
the test to be one of those people by the counter in malls so
I didn't know what to do with myself at the time.
Interviewer:
Do you feel like you've changed ever since you started working?
Kyouka: I don't
think so. But I do think about my future more often nowadays...
AV isn't something I can do forever... so I am a bit worried.
A lot of my friends are still students so I can't really talk
to them about this (laughs).
Interviewer: That's
something that's not really particular field though. I think
you should be able to talk about this to anyone your age.
Kyouka: I guess
so...
Interviewer: How
about anything that's changed as far as sex is concerned? Sorta
like testing out things you tried out during work.
Kyouka: I don't
remember doing anything really weird on tape. Ah, I did pretend
at getting raped with my ex though (laugh).
Interviewer: How
was it?
Kyouka: It was
my ex that brought it up but I got really into it (laughs).
He even told me that I was born masochist (laughs).
Interviewer: Kyoka
Usami's been in a lot of works recently, but have you ever felt
that you've gotten popular?
Kyouka: No, not
really... I do like the fact that I'm getting work, but I wonder
if they really want to see me even when I meet fans.
Interviewer: What
about plans from now on? Ever think that there's a certain video
you want to be in?
Kyouka: Hmmm. I
never really thought about that...
Interviewer: You
haven't done any drama ones. You're not interested in acting?
Kyouka: Not really...
I'm doing a V cinema next month and they're telling me that
it's more work than AVs so I'm worried (laughs). Oh, I'm also
going to be stripping!
Interviewer: Stripping?
Starting when?
Kyouka: Early September.
I'll start practicing late August but they showed me where I'd
be doing it when they brought up the idea. It looked so pretty!
It didn't look dirty at all, just... beautiful.
Interviewer: Stripping
is different from videos since there's people around you. I
think it'll be a nice change.
Kyouka: I got friendly
with Seika Izumi when we worked together recently. She strips
too you know. She told me that it's very similar to videos so
I'm looking forward to it!
Interviewer: You
did rhythmic gymnastics back in school didn't you? Maybe you'll
be a natural for it.
Kyouka: I wonder
about that. I only did it during junior high and I did volleyball
until then.
Interviewer: Then
that's even better.
Kyouka: I haven't
done anything during high school so I'm not sure if I can still
do it... but I do want everyone to watch me, so I'll do my best!
